Debranding Sony Ericsson’s UIQ3 Phone..for free….

Free is good isn’t it? yep it is. First of the phone I got is SE W950i which have a firmware of Trade HK which I successfully debrand it to Generic World 1.

Before we start I have to say doing so can brick your phone and i’m not reasonible for any action you done. Backing up your phone would be the first nice step you wanna do. Aright enough talking and lets get started.

1. You need an SE phone with UIQ3 (p990/m600/w950)

2. SE update service (you can download it at http://www.sonyericsson.com/)

3. Install SE update service program and run then update of your phone. Even if its say “You already have the lastest firmware installed” just update it away.

4. Now then check your SE update service folder (usually C:\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\13740270\blob_fs) look for a file with 310+ bytes and 410+ bytes. Back those up incase you did something worng.

5. Download the blob_fs files to change your CDA number follow. Switch the 2 files with the one you download and remember to rename the files so it matches.

6. Update your phone again and run thru the setup wizward now you should have 2 CDA number.

7. Now update your phone for the last time which will force SE update service to download and update your new CDA.

8. Done
